The gonzo-circus-variety experience in Las Vegas has one show and one show only sitting at the top of the heap: ABSINTHE at Caesars Palace. ABSINTHE is, hands down, one of the best shows on the Strip, injected with a raw, relentless twist of humor and a decadent slice of sensuality. It’s a series of stops along a jaw-dropping journey of various physical acts, parodies and comedy routines. ABSINTHE is many things at once, but one thing always – a reminder that you can still gasp in wonder at life and human creativity. It’s enough to jolt a jaded audience to life.

The sum of these parts in ABSINTHE shapes an experience that’s exactly the kind of thing Las Vegas needs to stay honest. The show, thankfully, is just different enough and just daring enough to leave an impression on viewers without appearing as though the creators were trying too hard.

Inside the Spiegeltent, out the front doors of Caesars Palace, the theater-in-the round’s offering is definitely not for the faint of heart. Vegas visitors with excessive political correctness demands should take heed, however, as the jokes are raw, the chests are sometimes bare, and the entertainment is heart stopping.

From the foul-mouthed (and absolutely hilarious) emcee, The Gazillionaire, alongside his raucous assistant, to the cast of eccentric performers, the action never ceases. At several points in the show, one can be so immersed in the performances that they’re still clapping, mouth agape, when the crowd had since stopped and were focusing on the next set.

One minute you’re witnessing a stylish, sexy burlesque number, the next you’re seeing aerialists performing depth-defying stunts with tremendously funny commentary from The Gazillionaire.
